The A-12 has been well handled to this point. . . . There are no impediments to the completion of the full scale development contract. |

| The $5 Billion Misunder- standing: The Collapse of the Navy’s Failed A-12 Stealth Bomber Program. |
The book takes the reader from the genesis of the Navy's interest in stealth to the beginning of the A-12 program in 1984. The narrative continues through the fourth trial in the spring of 2001. The book ends in August of 2001 just prior to the trial judge’s decision in that fourth trial. This trial was suppose to determine whether or not the A-12 contractors were in actual default on the A-12 research & development contract.
The significance of that decision and the subsequent appeals and trials will be clearer to those who have read the book. For those who have not, you can get a feeling about the book from some of the reviews. You can also purchase an authographed copy of the book from this site or order the book from the Naval Institute Press.
After the The trial court reversed its previous decision and affirmed the U.S. Navy’s termination for default, the Court of Federal Appeals reversed the trial court. The case is back before the trial court after almost 12 years of liltigation. You can read the decision by going to “The $5 Billion Misunderstanding Update.”
